Terms of Service

1. Agreement, eligibility, and account security

These Terms of Service (Terms) govern access to and use of PALEOS.IO, including its public pages and Explorer, member accounts, App Portal, The Digsite, Builder membership features, Field Notes, profiles, scripts, guides, calculators, news, and related authorized features (collectively, the Service). They are an agreement between you and PALEOS.IO, the operator of PALEOS.IO (PALEOS.IO, we, us, or our).

Before entering authenticated features, you must actively select the unchecked acceptance control presented with the current Terms and Website End User License Agreement (Website EULA) and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. Do not enter authenticated features if you do not agree. PALEOS.IO records the document versions and canonical hashes presented, acceptance action, locale, UTC acceptance time, and acceptance-flow version. Acceptance permits authorized use of the Service under these Terms only. It does not authorize paid enrollment, a charge, or a recurring charge.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. The Service is not directed to children or teenagers. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for it. You must provide accurate account information, protect your account email, password, sessions, and verification codes, and promptly report suspected compromise through paleos.privacy@pm.me. Accounts may not be shared, sold, rented, or transferred. You may not bypass authentication, authorization, membership restrictions, rate limits, APK-authorization limits, or other technical protections.

2. Current Service, license, billing, and acceptable use

The Service currently includes a public landing page and Explorer; authenticated member accounts; email verification and one-time-passcode-assisted sign-in; App Portal browsing; PALEOS.IO app descriptions and release links or gated delivery; a daily member APK-authorization limit; The Digsite; Builder membership; Builder Field Notes; profiles and limited community functions; downloadable PowerShell scripts; calculators, news, guides, and external links; transactional email; and moderation, account-security, and audit operations. The Service does not accept third-party APK, AAB, installer, executable, archive, or source-code uploads.

Builder membership may include the ability to submit app-support requests at any time, post and interact with Field Notes and other enabled Builder community features, and receive access to eligible beta app releases, previews, and new PALEOS.IO features before or alongside broader availability. Support requests may be submitted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. PALEOS.IO aims to provide an initial response within 48 hours of receipt, but does not guarantee a particular response time, continuous live assistance, resolution time, feature availability, compatibility outcome, or uninterrupted service. Support is limited to PALEOS.IO apps and services unless PALEOS.IO expressly agrees otherwise.

Builder Field Notes, comments, profiles, and other community activity remain subject to these Terms, applicable community rules, and moderation. PALEOS.IO may review, remove, restrict, preserve, or disclose content when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or the Service, respond to legal process, investigate abuse or security concerns, or comply with law.

Beta releases, previews, and experimental features are optional, may be incomplete or unstable, may change or be withdrawn at any time, and may not be suitable for primary, safety-sensitive, business-critical, or production use. Beta access does not create an obligation to release, maintain, support, or commercially provide any feature, app version, interface, or capability.

3. Member Content, moderation, and intellectual property

Member Content means content you submit through a profile, Field Note, or another current community feature. You retain any ownership rights you have. You grant PALEOS.IO a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and distribute that content to the audience and through the feature you selected, and otherwise to use it only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, maintain, and improve the current Service. This license permits service providers to perform those activities solely for PALEOS.IO and ends when the content is removed, except for routine backups, legal, security, audit, or dispute records, and material already shared by another member through a Service feature.

You represent that you have the rights and authority needed to submit Member Content and that its permitted use does not violate law or another person's privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contract, or intellectual-property rights. Do not submit malware, unlawful material, another person's sensitive information without authorization, or material you lack the right to share. PALEOS.IO may, but is not required to, review content and may restrict, remove, or preserve it or take account action when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, address infringement, or protect the Service, users, or third parties. Moderation is not a guarantee that content is accurate, safe, lawful, or suitable.

PALEOS.IO and its licensors retain all rights not expressly granted. Copyright notices and counter-notices must be sent to paleos.privacy@pm.me and include the information required by applicable law. PALEOS.IO may remove or restrict material in response to a valid notice, process a valid counter-notice as applicable law provides, and terminate repeat infringers where appropriate. Trademark and other intellectual-property complaints must be sent to paleos.privacy@pm.me. The copyright process is not a trademark safe harbor.

4. Apps, Android downloads, external links, and Experimental PowerShells

The App Portal may describe PALEOS.IO applications and provide release links or gated delivery to authorized members, subject to the daily member APK-authorization limit. Each application is governed by its applicable license and installation consent. An authorized download does not transfer ownership, authorize redistribution, or remove release-specific controls. APK sideloading can expose a device and data to malicious or altered packages, incompatibility, reduced security protections, missed updates, instability, data loss, or loss of manufacturer, carrier, or other support. Before installing, review the source, publisher, signature, permissions, compatibility, license, privacy information, update path, and appropriate backup and recovery options.

PALEOS.IO may link to repositories, app stores, developer sites, documentation, and other third-party destinations. A link, listing, release note, rating, badge, or placement does not mean PALEOS.IO controls, audits, certifies, endorses, warrants, authors, or accepts responsibility for that destination or its software or content. Third parties have their own terms, licenses, privacy practices, security practices, and update policies. You are responsible for evaluating them before downloading, installing, executing, purchasing, licensing, or relying on them. Except for PALEOS.IO's own materials made available through release links or gated delivery, PALEOS.IO does not host or accept third-party application packages or executables.

PowerShell scripts, ADB and Shizuku instructions, and other technical materials are experimental and may alter Windows, Android, packages, security, privacy, network, and device settings. Errors, incompatible software or hardware, interrupted execution, removed packages, or third-party changes may cause data loss, degraded functionality, security or privacy exposure, instability, loss of support or warranty coverage, or an unusable device. Before use, read all instructions and warnings, confirm authority over the device, review the commands, make and test an appropriate backup and recovery plan, assess compatibility, apply least privilege, and stop if uncertain. Use is at your informed risk to the maximum extent permitted by law. This does not waive non-waivable rights, excuse liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or replace safe instructions, known-issue notices, or PALEOS.IO's own legal obligations. Unless a resource states otherwise, Script Library materials are provided under the MIT License.

5. Privacy, suspension, availability, and changes

The Privacy Policy explains how PALEOS.IO processes personal information. PALEOS.IO does not operate an advertising or cross-site behavioral-tracking business and does not use personal information or Member Content to train a general-purpose artificial-intelligence model under the current Service. These statements do not prevent disclosures described in the Privacy Policy, including necessary service-provider processing, member-directed publication, or lawful disclosures.

PALEOS.IO may suspend, restrict, or terminate access when it reasonably believes a user violated these Terms, created a security or legal risk, infringed rights, misused an account, interfered with the Service, or when action is necessary to protect PALEOS.IO, users, or third parties. Where reasonable, PALEOS.IO may provide notice and an opportunity to respond, but may act without prior notice when delay could create a security, legal, or operational risk. You may stop using the Service at any time. Suspension or termination does not affect accrued rights or obligations, and retained information remains governed by the Privacy Policy.

PALEOS.IO may prospectively change, limit, suspend, or retire features for operational, security, legal, or product reasons. The Service may be unavailable, incomplete, or changed where permitted by law, and no feature, release, link, listing, account status, or item of content is promised to remain available. Material changes to these Terms that affect authenticated use will be presented for renewed affirmative acceptance when required by law.

6. Disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law, and contact

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service and Service content are provided "as is" and "as available." PALEOS.IO does not warrant that the Service, Member Content, technical material, scripts, applications, links, or third-party destinations are accurate, complete, secure, lawful, private, compatible, uninterrupted, error-free, available, or fit for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PALEOS.IO disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. No listing, badge, release note, security description, or publication status is a certification or guarantee of safety, security, privacy, legality, compatibility, or future performance.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PALEOS.IO and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, use, security, business opportunity, or device functionality, arising from or related to the Service, even if advised of the possibility. To the maximum extent permitted by law, their total aggregate liability for all claims related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid PALEOS.IO for the Service in the 12 months before the event or US $100. Nothing excludes, restricts, or waives rights, remedies, warranties, or liabilities that applicable law does not permit PALEOS.IO to exclude, restrict, waive, or limit, including applicable protections concerning fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury, and non-waivable statutory or consumer rights.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PALEOS.IO and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your Member Content, your breach of these Terms, or your unlawful, unauthorized, or intentionally harmful use of the Service, an application, script, or third-party destination. This applies only to the extent the claim results from your conduct and not PALEOS.IO's own conduct, and does not impose an obligation prohibited by law.

Maine law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires a different rule or preserves non-waivable consumer protections. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not contain a class-action waiver. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remainder remains effective. Provisions concerning retained records, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law, severability, and survival continue as appropriate after termination.
