PALEOS.IO is independent work for people who want more agency over their devices, attention, and creative practice. This is the concise record of why it exists and how we intend to build.
Where PALEOS.IO began
PALEOS.IO began in southern Maine as the work of a solo developer, audio engineer, animator, and event-operations worker who wanted practical software that respects both the device and the person using it. The aim is not to create a platform; it is to make focused Android tools that help people use their own devices with calm confidence.
What we are working toward
Our goal is practical digital self-determination: offline capability as a default, security features that are tangible, fewer distractions, and clear limitations. Each product should earn attention by solving a specific job without advertising, behavioral tracking, or an unnecessary cloud account.
Our Green AI Pledge
We use AI and automation only when they deliver a clear benefit. We design for small, focused workflows; avoid behavioral profiling; reduce needless network activity, duplicated processing, and decorative churn; and keep decisions legible. We will state safeguards and their limits plainly, favor useful proof over hype, and revise this pledge as our tools and evidence improve.
